Why we created Everychain

In working with several startups building new Web3 applications, we noticed that every team faced an important challenge: deciding which blockchain to build on. Selecting the best blockchain for your particular application is challenging. There are dozens of options spread among several categories — Layer 1, Layer 2, specialty chains for gaming or DeFi, etc. And the criteria for selecting a blockchain is complex — involving detailed technical, economic, and community considerations.

There aren’t many resources for starting the selection process. Developers are spending time duplicating efforts — searching online, reading websites, poking around on Discord and YouTube, and creating spreadsheets from scratch in order to get their arms around this key, early decision — time they would rather spend actually building.

We’ve spent hundreds of hours to take a crack at assembling all of that stratified information, and are sharing it here.

Everychain breaks down the top 20+ blockchain platforms by Vital Statistics (contact info, founders, funding, social feeds, etc.), Technical Specs (TPS, transaction costs, consensus mechanics, node counts, known vulnerabilities, etc.), Token Economics (capitalization, TVL, liquidity, exchanges, etc.), and Community (funding resources, key projects, partnerships, etc.). We’ve pulled the information from the best, most credible sources we can find.
